Welcome to Hollywood, Olympics.

Part of the Closing Ceremonies for any Summer Games is a transition to the next location that will host the Olympics in four years, and Sunday's event was no different. Paris put the finishing touches on the 2024 Games with a memorable show that included handing the Olympic flag to Los Angeles ahead of the 2028 Games.

And Los Angeles threw a party.

Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Billie Eilish and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed with the Southern California beach as a fitting backdrop:

That wasn't all, as actor Tom Cruise added some Hollywood magic by rappelling from the top of the stadium to retrieve the Olympic flag and deliver it to Los Angeles like he was performing a Mission Impossible stunt:

It was a reminder to the audience that Los Angeles and Hollywood are best known for putting on a show, and the 2028 Olympics gives the host an excellent chance to do just that with the world watching.

If Sunday was a taste of what's to come, the Opening Ceremonies and Olympics as a whole will be quite memorable in 2028.
