NFL Rumors: Malik Nabers Suffers 'Minor' Ankle Injury at Giants Practice

Jack MurrayAug 11, 2024

The New York Giants had an injury scare during Sunday's practice.

Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reported that 2024 No. 6 pick Malik Nabers had removed his left shoe and "limped off" the field during practice. ESPN's Jordan Raanan then reported that the team believes Nabers injury was a "minor ankle sprain."

Nabers did not record any statistics in the Giants preseason opener against the Detroit Lions.

While Nabers has not played in a regular-season game for the Giants yet, the hype for him is sky high after an excellent final season at LSU.

The 21-year-old had 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023 for the Tigers and was named an All-American for his efforts. This led to him being one of the top available wide receiver prospects at the 2024 Draft and the Giants were the team that was able to get him.

The team will hope this doesn't slow his development and that he can add to a position group that did not have a single 1,000 yard receiver in 2023.
