Former Cowboys CB Stephon Gilmore to Visit Vikings; 2-Time NFL All-Pro

Jack MurrayAug 10, 2024

Stephon Gilmore could be wearing purple this season.

NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that the cornerback is flying out to for a meeting with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

Gilmore spent the 2023 season with the Dallas Cowboys and has played for four different franchises in the last four seasons.

Gilmore is a two-time All-Pro cornerback and won the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year Award when he was with the New England Patriots. The 33-year-old has 31 career interceptions and has 561 total tackles.

While he may not be in his prime anymore, he has put together two consecutive healthy seasons and could provide a strong veteran presence in the Vikings secondary.

Minnesota's pass defense ranked as the worst in the NFL in each of the last two seasons. Bringing in a veteran like Gilmore could help bring further stability to that group.
