Jayden Daniels Delights Commanders, NFL Fans in Debut vs. Jets as Aaron Rodgers Sits
Washington Commanders rookie quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels only needed one drive to shine in his preseason debut at the New York Jets on Saturday.
Daniels connected on a 42-yard dime to wide receiver Dyami Brown before capping his day with a three-yard touchdown run.

Daniels completed 2-of-3 passes for 45 yards. He missed running back Austin Ekeler on a screen pass but later connected with Terry McLaurin on a three-yard catch.
Needless to say, fans and analysts were pleased with the performance against the Jets, who were playing without four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers alongside 27 other key players, including the starting defense.
Still, Daniels looked good out there, and that was enough to create some optimism.
Washington is back on the field next Saturday at 7 p.m. ET at the Miami Dolphins. The Commanders' regular season begins at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Sept. 8.
