CeeDee Lamb Scrubs Cowboys from Social Media amid Rumors; Adds Photo of Chiefs' Brown
Amid a holdout and contract disputes with the Dallas Cowboys, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has removed his current team from his social media while raising eyebrows with some of his changes.
Lamb removed "America's Team" from his X bio on Thursday, and added to speculation on Friday when he changed his header to a photo of him and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Hollywood Brown.
Brown, Lamb's Oklahoma teammate, also updated his header to a picture of him and Lamb.
Lamb's cryptic moves on social media come after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made comments indicating that the team isn't in a hurry to get the star receiver a new deal.
"I don't have any urgency to get it done," Jones said on Thursday, per The Athletic's Jon Machota.
Lamb responded to Jones' comments, posting "lol" on social media shortly after on Thursday night.
Lamb is coming off the best season of his career in which he led the league in receptions (135), had the second-most receiving yards (1,749) and the third-most touchdowns (12). After the big year, it's understandable why the fifth-year receiver would want a new contract.
He's set to play on the final year of his rookie deal and will earn $17.99 million in 2024 if he doesn't get a new contract before the start of the season. Compared to what top receivers like Minnesota Vikings Justin Jefferson and Detroit Lions Amon-Ra St. Brown are making, Lamb is arguably one of the highest-value players in the league.
If Lamb's moves on social media are actually indicative that he wants out of Dallas, it could be a huge loss for the Cowboys.
