Pennsylvania 5, Washington D.C. 1

Inclement weather interrupted the championship of the Mid-Atlantic Regional, but the players from Newtown, Pennsylvania are satisfied with how Friday went.

The championship game featured multiple stoppages due to the weather and was tied as late as the fourth inning. However, the Pennsylvania offense got one across in the bottom of the inning and added three insurance runs to secure the trip to Williamsport.

Ryan Uhl led Pennsylvania with three RBIs and Saverio Longo took the victory with four innings pitched while allowing just two hits, three walks and one run while striking out eight batters.

Newtown advances to Williamsport for the first time since 2005. This is the fourth consecutive year that Pennsylvania has had a team represent the Mid-Atlantic region.

New York 5, New Jersey 1

The weather in Bristol, CT did not improve for Game 2.

The Metro Region title game was also a victim of delays but the squad from New York was able to get the better of the one from New Jersey with a 5-0 victory.

The game was scoreless when it hit a lengthy rain delay during the fourth inning but New York was ready to go when it counted most. The team put up a run in the fourth and fifth innings before putting up three in the top of the sixth to clinch their ticket.

Stephen Grippo earned the victory on the mound and sent South Shore Little League team from Staten Island to Williamsport. This is the second time that New York will be the representative for the Metro Region.

Nevada 2, Utah 0

Wyatt Erickson threw a no-hitter to lead Nevada to a 2-0 win over Utah.

Erickson struck out four and allowed just two baserunners (via a walk and a hit-by-pitch). The latter runner, Carson Smith, got on with two out in the top of the sixth, bringing the game-tying run to the dish. But Erickson forced a groundout to shortstop Russell McGee, who ran to second to end the game.

Nevada scored a run in each of the first two innings. Noah Letalu's RBI single plated McGee, and then Dominic Laino tripled and scored on a Jimmy Foss RBI groundout.

This is the second straight year a team from Henderson, Nevada is heading to the Little League World Series. Last year, Henderson Little League represented the Mountain region. This year, it'll be Paseo Verde Little League going to Williamsport.

South Dakota 6, Missouri 1

Griffin Sommer pitched a gem to help lead South Dakota to a 6-1 win over Missouri.

Sommer struck out six over 5.1 innings, allowing seven hits and just one earned run, which occurred in the final frame.

South Dakota struck first in the second inning with three runs, the first of which came courtesy of an August Vortherms RBI triple to score Manny Kortan. Vortherms later scored on a passed ball. The third run occurred via error.

Sommer hit an RBI single in the top of the fourth before Devin Cargin hit a two-RBI single in the sixth. Cargin later shut the door in the bottom of the sixth, getting the last two outs to seal the win.

South Dakota fell 6-4 to Missouri earlier in the tournament and found itself on the brink of elimination. However, South Dakota then beat Iowa 3-0 to force a winner-take-all rematch with Missouri.

Hawaii 2, Southern California 1

A phenomenal pitchers' duel ended in favor of Hawaii as Evan Tavares struck out 13 over 5.1 innings to lead his team to victory.

Tavares also scored both of Hawaii's runs.

The first happened via a wild pitch. Batting second, Tavares got the bats going in the first inning with a single and later made his way to third on another single and a fielder's choice.

The second run occurred following a Hayden Takahashi RBI single in the top of the fifth. Tavares initially got on base via error and made his way to second on a groundout.

Southern California's lone run came in the bottom of the second inning after Carson Tatum laid down a bunt that scored Jack Mette. It was an unearned run on Tavares' statline after an error previously advanced Mette to third.

Jayden Lam had two of Southern California's three hits. Gavin Cruz shined on the mound, striking out seven in six innings while allowing just one earned run and three hits.
