Patriots' Matthew Judon Addresses Video of Jerod Mayo Exchange; LB Talks Contract
After a video showed a heated exchange between New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo and linebacker Matthew Judon, Judon explained his side of the story.
Judon didn't give many specifics about the interaction with Mayo and said the way he moves his hands while he talks made things seem more heated than they actually were.
"We had a conversation. I didn't want to be a distraction to the team, so I went inside," Judon said, per NFL Network's Nick Shook. "I wasn't participating in those drills that day. So I went inside, then I got a message so I came back to talk to the GM. … Then I went back inside. Sorry I'm animated and talk with my hands. Imma start talking like this and not be so animated."

A few days after Mayo and Judon's exchange, the new head coach addressed the situation but said he and Judon "have a great relationship."
"Look, we had a conversation," Mayo said, per NFL Network's Eric Edholm. "I have a great relationship with Matthew, I have a great relationship with the players. But we're moving forward and we're trying to work it out."
While neither Mayo nor Judon revealed what was said during their conversation, it seems to be behind them and they'll look to shift the focus on winning games.
Judon missed most of last season with a torn bicep tendon, playing just four games and recording 13 tackles and four sacks. He'll look to stay healthy this year and lead the Patriots to a big year in Mayo's first season as head coach.
