Recap

Any match that includes Nadal is going to be the highlight of the day, and he and Alcaraz needed a tiebreaker to get past the Dutch pair of Griekspoor and Koolhof.

It was an incredibly even match. The Spanish pair only managed to convert one of seven break points, while the Dutch duo went 0-for-3 in that regard. Griekspoor and Koolhof will lament their 26 unforced errors, seven more than Nadal and Alcaraz.

The Spanish duo also had 12 total winners, to just three for Griekspoor and Koolhof.

Up next for Nadal and Alcaraz is a shodown with the American duo of Ram and Krajicek.

Nadal is trying to win his third Olympics gold medal and second in doubles after winning the singles tournament at the 2008 Games in Beijing and the doubles tournament in Rio at the 2016 event, paired with Marc López.

This time around, he's paired with a star in his own right in Alcaraz, making them the most star-studded duo remaining in the competition. And now the pair are three wins away from gold.
