On Sunday, Rafael Nadal defeated Marton Fucsovics in three sets to reach the second round of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Rafael Nadal Advances, Sets Up Match Against Novak Djokovic
2 of 3
Rafael Nadal stared down three break points deep in the third set, looking like his Olympic campaign, which had just begun, was already over.
Instead, the 14-time French Open champion defeated Marton Fucsovics in thrilling fashion to advance to the second round of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Spaniard will face rival Novak Djokovic for the 60th time in his career.
While Nadal has dominated the head-to-head matchup on clay (leads 20-8), he is currently far from his best and will need a vintage-like performance to advance and keep his hopes of winning a second gold medal alive.
When Nadal and Djokovic square off, nothing is out of the question, setting up what should be another unforgettable match.
Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud Impressive in First Round
3 of 3
Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud, both top five favorites to win gold at Roland-Garros, played on Sunday.
Zverev, the recent runner-up at the 2024 French Open, dropped just four games.
Ruud, who reached the French Open final in back-to-back years (2022, 2023), struggled early.
In a sloppy first set, Ruud committed 16 unforced errors, but he was able to play his signature tennis late, dominating baseline rallies and committing just five unforced errors in the second set.
