Viral Photo of LeBron James at Olympics' Opening Ceremonies Sparks Memes By NBA Fans

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James carried the American flag for Team USA alongside tennis star Coco Gauff as its boat traversed the Seine river in the pouring rain during the Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Paris on Friday evening.

Naturally, the stirring image led to many responding back with their own memes and takes.

James is aiming for his third Olympic gold medal with Team USA. He just led the Americans to a 5-0 record in exhibition games leading into Paris, notably coming through with clutch performances against South Sudan and Germany, hitting the game-winning bucket with eight seconds left of a 101-100 win in the former matchup.

The men's basketball team's first game in Paris will be against Serbia at 11:15 a.m. ET.
