Yankees Trade Rumors: NY 'Actively Seeking' 3B Upgrade Alongside Pitching Help
The New York Yankees are reportedly looking for help at several positions ahead of the MLB trade deadline.
According to SNY's Andy Martino, the Yankees are "actively seeking" an upgrade at third base. They're also searching for rotation and bullpen help.
ESPN's Jorge Castillo reported on Wednesday that New York "inquired" about Colorado Rockies All-Star third baseman Ryan McMahon, although the Rockies reportedly told him that he would not be moved.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️
While the Yankees are still sitting in the American League postseason picture with a 60-44 record, they've struggled as of late. After winning 50 of the team's first 72 games, New York owns a mere 10-22 record since.
One of the main issues has been a lack of consistent offense outside of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, the team's two All-Stars. Oswaldo Cabrera and DJ LeMahieu have split time at the hot corner in 2024, although the results have been mixed.
Despite a strong start to the season for Cabrera, he's hitting just .242 with five home runs and 29 RBIs after cooling off significantly. As for LeMahieu, he owns a disappointing .179 batting average and a .498 OPS with just one homer in 134 at-bats.
The Yankees also appear to be focused on adding some pitching help, with a couple of familiar faces reportedly on their radar. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com revealed on Thursday that New York is one of the teams to express interest in Chicago Cubs starter Jameson Taillon.
MLB Network's Jon Morosi also reported on Tuesday that the Yankees are interested in Toronto Blue Jays reliever Chad Green, who previously spent seven seasons in New York.
Although general manager Brian Cashman hasn't made any blockbuster in-season moves just yet, that could change prior to the trade deadline on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET.
