Video: Derek Stingley Jr. Sparks Fight at Texans Camp After Shoving Dalton Schultz

The Houston Texans are fired up for the start of a new season.

Perhaps even too fired up.

Cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. shoved tight end Dalton Schultz during Wednesday's training camp practice, which sparked a scuffle:

Scuffles, shoving, trash talking and the like happens every year at training camps across the league, so Texans fans shouldn't be too concerned with this development. As long as nobody suffers any injuries, there is typically little reason for worry.

Houston will need Stingley and Schultz performing at their best this season as it attempts to win the AFC South for the second straight year.

While he was limited to 11 games, Stingley was an important part of the secondary with 39 tackles, 13 passes defended and five interceptions. The No. 3 overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft will once again be asked to help anchor the secondary in 2024.

And Schultz will likely find plenty of open space this season playing alongside Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins and Tank Dell in the aerial attack. He posted 59 catches for 635 yards and five touchdowns last season, which was his first in Houston.

The numbers could be even better in 2024 for a team that starts its preseason slate with the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 1.
