Heat's Josh Christopher Wins 2024 Summer League Championship MVP in Win vs. Grizzlies
Miami Heat guard Josh Christopher is the NBA Summer League championship MVP after an outstanding performance against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.
Christopher, a first-round draft pick in 2021, finished with 24 points, four rebounds, three steals and a pair of blocks to lead Miami to a 120-118 overtime win.

Christopher came up clutch for the Heat down the stretch. After the Grizzlies came within two points of the overtime target score, Christopher drilled a deep stepback three to tie things up and set up what would be the game-winning basket a few plays later.
Christopher was arguably Miami's best player over the final few games. Before his big performance on Monday, he had 23 points in the semifinal matchup against Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
After a big showing in Summer League, Christopher will now look to find a spot on an NBA roster.
The Arizona State product has struggled to stay in the league since being drafted in 2022. He spent two seasons with the Houston Rockets, the team he was drafted to, averaging 7.9 points per game in his first year and 5.8 points per game in his second season.
After the 2022-23 season, Christopher was traded to the Grizzlies, but waived before the start of the year. He was then waived by the Utah Jazz and picked up by the Heat on a two-way contract in January.
The future is unclear for Christopher, but he made a strong case for himself in Summer League and will now hope to find his way into Miami's rotation this year.
