Aaron Rodgers Ahead of Travis Kelce, More After American Century Championship Day 1
NFL stars Aaron Rodgers and Travis Kelce were among the host of athletes and celebrities who began play Friday at the American Century Championship, a three-round, 54-hole golf tournament at Edgewood Tahoe South in Stateline, Nevada.
Rodgers is currently tied for 25th in the 90-person field with 10 points in the tournament, which is using a modified Stableford scoring system. Kelce is tied for 62nd with negative-two points. Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen leads the tournament with 24 points.
Rodgers, who is playing with actor Miles Teller and his ex-Green Bay Packers teammate AJ Hawk, spoke with NBC Sports. He is coming back from a torn Achilles that wiped out nearly all of his 2023 season and noted that summer is over after this tournament.

Rodgers used two birdies on the front nine to get to nine points at the turn. He slowed down a bit on the back nine but is still squarely in the top half of the field going into Saturday.
Meanwhile, Kelce teed off with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles star center Jason Kelce.
Travis Kelce's round got off to a bit of a rough start after his approach shot hit a fan.
Kelce double bogeyed three of the first four holes and fell to negative-five points, but he rallied quite well afterward and even birdied the 10th, scoring three points over the final 14 holes.
Round 2 will begin on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET. Fans can watch on NBC or Peacock.
