Wimbledon Tennis 2024 Men's Final: Novak Djokovic vs. Carlos Alcaraz Predictions

Nicholas NathansonJul 13, 2024

Novak Djokovic has been waiting 363 days for this rematch, and at times it seemed out of the question.

Now, the wait is over.

On Sunday, the 37-year-old steps onto Centre Court for his sixth straight Wimbledon final, facing off against Carlos Alcaraz, the 21-year-old phenom who ended his historic run last year.

Djokovic is chasing a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam and a record-tying eighth Wimbledon title, while Alcaraz, at just 21, has already made history as the youngest player to win a Grand Slam on all three surfaces.

The two will face each other for the sixth time (Djokovic leads 3-2).

Can Djokovic avenge last year's heartbreaking loss, or will history repeat itself?

Prediction

Novak Djokovic over Carlos Alcaraz in four sets

Despite being just a month removed from right knee surgery, Djokovic has shown no signs of concern.

In fact, the No. 2 seed hasn't lost a set since the second round.

In his last two matches, the Serbian has been stellar, defeating Holger Rune and Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets.

Alcaraz is the more battle-tested player of the two and has faced four top-20 opponents in a row.

In three of those four matches, the Spaniard lost the first set but has demonstrated his ability to perform at his peak level during crucial moments.

The 21-year-old has few flaws in his game and covers the court like no one else.

Just as the odds suggest, Sunday's match could be another classic.

Alcaraz will test Djokvovic, grabbing at least one or two sets; however, it's difficult to see Djokovic falling in the Wimbledon final two straight years.
