Fantasy Football 2024: Creative Team Names and Early Keeper Advice
Fantasy football season is here.
No, there isn't a specific reason we're saying that, but it's kind of always fantasy football season, isn't it? Plus, we're less than a month away from the NFL preseason kicking off, so if you aren't starting your pre-draft preparations, you're at risk of running behind your leaguemates.
Let's stay ahead of the curve, then, with a few bits of keeper-league strategy before running through a list of teams names sure to elicit a belly laugh (or at least a half-smile) from your competitors.
Prioritize Age, but Don't Overlook Production

Depending on your league settings, there's a chance that you can keep star players indefinitely. Don't discount how hugely helpful that can be.
That's why keeper-league rankings are always so loaded at the top with the brightest young stars in the game. Their 2024 outlook obviously matters most, but the fact they can potentially keep helping you for years to come is what really skyrockets their value.
Saying that, though, don't forget about the old reliables on your roster, either. Especially not if you have a realistic chance of winning your league this season.
Christian McCaffrey and Tyreek Hill can't offer the same long-term windows as Bijan Robinson and Garrett Wilson, but the former could absolutely outscore the latter this season. That production matters, more so than the potential in a lot of cases.
Use League Settings to Optimize Positional Value

The best fantasy football manager is an informed one. If you don't know your league settings inside and out, you should open them in a new tab, study the heck out of them and then come back to read the rest of this.
Whatever is unique to your league is critically important to know. Do you start one quarterback or two? Do you get rewarded six points for a passing touchdown instead of four? Are there big-play bonuses or extra points handed out for statistical milestones like 100 rushing or receiving yards?
If you know how your league rewards certain positions, then you can maximize the value of that.
If quarterback play is rewarded in your league more than most, then you should absolutely use a keeper spot on someone like Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. If big-play bonuses are up for grabs, then keep a home-run hitter like Jahmyr Gibbs or George Pickens.
