College Football 25 Player Ratings: Will Johnson 1, Travis Hunter 6, Full Top 100 Set

Ahead of the highly anticipated release of EA Sports College Football 25, the game's top 100 player rankings were revealed on Wednesday.

While no player earned a coveted 99 overall rating, Michigan cornerback Will Johnson leads the way with a 96 overall, one of just three players with the highest rating. Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter wasn't too far behind, ranking No. 6 with a 95 overall:

Johnson is coming off a stellar sophomore campaign in which he totaled 27 tackles and four interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He recorded an interception while covering former Ohio State star receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. during the rivalry game on Nov. 25.

During the national championship game against Washington, Johnson picked off a pass from Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. on the first play of the second half to help seal the victory for the Wolverines. He earned the National Championship Defensive MVP award for his performance.

Johnson recently drew a comparison to former Alabama star cornerback Patrick Surtain II, who was a unanimous All-American in 2020 and now stars for the Denver Broncos, earning two Pro Bowl selections.

"I don't know if it's the size, jersey number or what," an NFC scouting director told ESPN's Jordan Reid. "The kid looks like a direct replica of Surtain coming out of Alabama. We'll see what he runs, but he has all of the tools to be special."

Despite being limited to nine games in his first year at Colorado, Hunter earned consensus All-American honors and received the Paul Hornung Award as the most versatile player in college football. He notched 57 catches for 721 yards and five touchdowns on offense while adding 30 total tackles and three interceptions on defense.

EA Sports College Football 25 is set to be released on July 19. It's the first college football game in 11 years following the release of NCAA Football 14 in 2013.
