New York Giants fans got a glimpse into the process behind their team's scouting process and negotiations with former star running back Saquon Barkley during Tuesday night's episode of HBO's Hard Knocks.

Episode 2 of the series gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Giants' process during the NFL Scouting Combine and heading into the 2024 NFL Draft.

The end of the episode offered a glimpse into the beginning of the Giants' offseason negotiations with Barkley, who ended up signing with the Philadelphia Eagles for three years and $37.75 million.

Giants general manager Joe Schoen is shown telling the former Pro Bowl running back that he would not be franchise tagged by the team.

Schoen asked Barkley to see what he could get in the open market and "give us a shout back" if he decided to stay with the Giants.

Earlier in the episode Hard Knocks showed New York Giants leadership interviewing top draft picks including Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels and Rome Odunze ahead of the 2024 NFL draft.

The Giants did not end up trading up for a quarterback and instead waited at No. 6 for wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Hard Knocks also touched on the opening of the discussion that left former Giants safety Xavier McKinney to depart for the Green Bay Packers in free agency for a four-year, $67 million deal.

Giants fans will need to wait until Episode 3 airs next Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET for more information on the team's split with Barkley or decision to draft Nabers.
