Report: Texas' Quinn Ewers Graded as Day 2 or Day 3 2025 NFL Draft Prospect by Scouts
Quinn Ewers led Texas to the College Football Playoff this past season, but he may not be one of the top quarterbacks off the board come April.
According to Jordan Reid of ESPN, Ewers isn't expected to be a first-round selection come the 2025 NFL draft:
"I'm hearing primarily late-Day 2 or even early-Day 3 grades from scouts right now, but it's early. And considering he's my QB3, he has to be in consideration for the top pick if he can piece together a really good prove-it season. The decision to return to school was the right one for Ewers, and he now gains another year of needed experience and tries to build on his positive moments shown last season."
Ewers, 21, threw for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions last season, completing 69 percent of his passes. He doesn't have much room for error this year, with Arch Manning breathing down his neck in the Texas quarterback room. A big-time season would both keep Manning on the bench and potentially improve Ewers' draft stock, however.
Heading into the 2024 college season, quarterbacks like Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, Georgia's Carson Beck, Alabama's Jalen Milroe, Penn State's Drew Allar, Miami's Cameron Ward and Ewers are the interesting names to monitor from a draft perspective.
