Anthony Edwards Says He's Over Wolves' NBA Playoff Loss to Mavs: 'That S--t Gone'

Andrew PetersJul 8, 2024

As he prepares to play for Team USA in the Olympics for the first time, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards said that he has moved on from his team's loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.

"That s--t gone. I can't do nothing about that, I can't go back and replay it," Edwards said. "It's over. We lost. All I'm thinking about now is, if we get back there, what are we going to do? It's over with."

The Timberwolves had a tremendous playoff run, sweeping the Phoenix Suns in the first round before defeating the Denver Nuggets in seven games to advance to the conference finals. Ultimately, Luka Dončić and the Mavs stood in the way of Minnesota's first Finals appearance in franchise history.

With the playoff loss behind him, Edwards is now looking forward to playing alongside his favorite player, Kevin Durant.

"Playing alongside KD. That's the only thing I'm looking to do," Edwards said. "That's my favorite player of all time. I played against him but I haven't played with him. I want to see the Olympic KD. I'd be watching him on TV when he'd make all the shots in the Olympics. It's time for me to see. I want to watch from the bench now... I want to watch him win us a game."

Durant is an Olympic legend at this point, with the upcoming games being his fourth, and Edwards is hoping to establish his own Olympic legacy at Paris alongside the star in Paris later this month.
