Thompson joins some elite company in terms of previous Mavs to rock a No. 31 jersey. Nick Van Exel wore No. 31 during his brief stint with Dallas from 2002-03, as did Jason Terry, who helped the Mavericks win a championship in 2011.

Thompson joined the Mavericks last week via a sign-and-trade with the Golden State Warriors, who he spent 13 seasons with. The five-time All-Star agreed to a three-year, $50 million deal.
