NBA Rumors: Eric Gordon, 76ers Agree to Contract in Free Agency amid Paul George Buzz

Eric Gordon is on the move again.

The veteran shooting guard is signing a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency, according to The Athletic and Stadium's Shams Charania.

Gordon had previously declined a $3.4 million player option to stay with the Suns for the 2024-25 season.

The veteran guard averaged 11.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals through 68 appearances for the Suns in 2023-24.

Originally a starter as injuries to Devin Booker and Bradley Beal opened spots in the rotation, Gordon mostly served as the Suns' sixth man for the latter half of the season.

He provided limited offense in the postseason, and was held to 0-for-5 shooting from the field during Game 1 of the Suns' first-round sweep by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Despite an overall dip in production, Gordon shot 44.3 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from deep during his single season with the Suns.

The 76ers now hope the former Sixth Man of the Year can provide reliable shooting from the bench, as well as add a veteran presence to the locker room.

This will be the fourth team Gordon has played for since the Houston Rockets dealt him to the Los Angeles Clippers midway through the 2022-23 season.

Gordon then signed with the Suns after he was waived by the Clippers in 2023.

Phoenix's guard rotation was crowded with Booker, Beal and Grayson Allen heading into the 2024-25 season. Gordon could have a better shot at getting minutes as a part of the 76ers reserves.
