Four-star quarterback Brady Hart announced Tuesday that he has committed to Michigan.

Per ESPN's Eli Lederman, Hart chose Michigan over finalists Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Miami and Florida.

Hart is a 6'4", 180-pound quarterback out of Cocoa High School (Florida). He's ranked seventh among class of 2026 signal-callers on the 247Sports Composite list and 92nd overall.

Hart spoke with EJ Holland of On3 regarding his decision.

"It exceeded my expectations," Hart said.

"It's an amazing place. It was spectacular. I enjoyed spending time with Coach (Kirk) Campbell and Coach (Sherrone) Moore. The biggest thing was listening to their philosophy on how things are going to move forward without Coach (Jim) Harbaugh there. I don't think the program is going to skip a beat. Michigan has been winning. They won a national championship last year. That's what Michigan does. They've won forever, and they are going to keep winning."

Holland noted that Hart made a multi-day unofficial visit to Ann Arbor, and that Michigan "made Hart its top priority at the quarterback position next cycle." The Wolverines clearly wanted Hart aboard, and Hart said he felt at home.

It's clear Hart's connection with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell made a difference, however.

"We talked a lot about offense and scheme and how I fit the program," Hart said. "I really enjoyed spending time with Coach Campbell. I like the way he's confident. He's just a confident guy. You want the guy calling plays for you to be a confident, chilled out guy. He knows a ton about the game. He's confident in what he can do and how he develops the guys each week to go into big-time games and win."

Hart shined for Cocoa last year, throwing for 3,759 yards and 41 touchdowns. Cocoa went 14-1 and won the state title.

Michigan is entering a new era under Moore, the former offensive coordinator and ex-acting head coach who takes over for head coach Jim Harbaugh after he left for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Hart won't be on campus for two years, but he'll likely be QB1 at some point during his tenure. Until then, though, it's unclear who will get the starting gig, but the clubhouse leader right now appears to be Alex Orji, per Aaron McMann of MLive, with Davis Warren behind him.
