Dirk Nowitzki Video: Watch Mavericks Star's Hilarious Reading of Britney Spears
I always thought the earlier work of literary genius Britney Spears was her best, and now I have evidence in the form of an epic Dirk Nowitzki reading.
The posted video was made available by the Dallas Mavericks' official YouTube account because, well, I am at a loss. This might be the perfect way to take fan's minds off the 3-4 start this team is on.
This is a rare moment of sheer delight in an otherwise awful start for the defending champions. So what should we take from this mere 30 seconds of awesome? Well, the swagger very well may be back.
The video begins like most dramatic re-tellings. A roaring fireplace in the back joins a celebrity to bring the scene to life. The only things missing is a pipe in one hand and a whiskey neat sitting on a table right next to Nowitzki.
In fact, this is how I imagine the German's locker looks like. If any of you know better, please do not ruin the fantasy.
Nowitzki then dives into one of the most polarizing work of literature ever. "Oops, I did it again. I played with your heart. Got lost in the game. Oh, baby, baby. Oots, you think I'm in love, sent from above. I'm not that innocent."
What is Spears trying to tell us? Nay, what is Nowitzki conveying when he goes from Oops, in the first line to Oots?
I think Nowitzki is making this lyrical masterpiece his own. It goes without saying that he certainly does own it.
I will never again here these words the same again. I just thank Nowitzki from not re-playing the music video. I don't need to see him in leather.
