Michael Chandler: McGregor and I Have Never Pulled Out of a Fight Amid UFC 303 Rumors
Michael Chandler fired back at rumors that his upcoming UFC 303 fight against Conor McGregor may not occur.
On Thursday, Chandler posted on social media to show that he and McGregor have never pulled out of a fight throughout their respective careers.
Earlier in the day, MMA journalist Ariel Helwani reported that the UFC is trying to find a "replacement solution" for the fight, although he explained that there "aren't a ton of options available right now."
Helwani later added that the fight isn't 100 percent off, although he would be "extremely surprised" if it remains in place. The UFC is reportedly "actively negotiating with multiple camps" in an attempt to find a replacement.
Chandler and McGregor's bout was officially announced as the main event at UFC 303 by UFC CEO Dana White in April. It marked McGregor's first fight since 2021, as the former two-division champion hadn't fought after he suffered a broken leg during a loss to Dustin Poirier.
However, pessimism about the fight taking place started on June 3 after a UFC 303 press conference in Dublin was suddenly postponed until further notice.
While Chandler isn't expecting himself or McGregor to pull out of the fight, it seems increasingly unlikely that the two will face off at UFC 303 on June 29.
