Chiefs' Travis Kelce Says He Wants to Be NFL Broadcaster After Eventual Retirement

Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is known for having a colorful personality, and he's hoping to bring that to the broadcasting booth when his playing days are over.

During this week's episode of the New Heights podcast, presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce had a debate over the possibility of owning an NFL team at some point, and Travis surprised his older brother by revealing he would turn down the opportunity to be an NFL owner in favor of a broadcasting career.

"Yes, because I want to broadcast when I'm done playing," Travis said around the 54:45 mark.

He gave his best sports commentator impersonation and continued, "'I want to be right here and tell them about the game, the old ball coach, ladies and gentlemen!' I want to do that. I want to be the talking head who calls the games."

Jason Kelce already beat Travis to the punch, as the former Philadelphia Eagles center will be joining ESPN to be an analyst on Monday Night Countdown in his first year of retirement.

Still, it would be a match made in heaven to have Travis Kelce calling games weekly. The nine-time Pro Bowler has been known to bring fun wherever he goes and he provides a sense of levity for the back-to-back reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs.

It's safe to expect that the star tight end will be heavily pursued by multiple networks when he's ready to begin his career in broadcasting.
