Giants Will Wear 'Century Red' Throwback Uniforms in NFL Week 1 vs. Vikings
The New York Giants will sport their "Century Red" uniforms for their 100th season opener against the Minnesota Vikings at home on Sunday, Sept. 8.
A giants.com press release read in following in part:
"The team will be wearing their 100th season 'Century Red' uniform at the home opener. The uniform harkens back to the earliest days of the franchise and features tan pants; red socks with blue and white stripes from the team's inaugural 1925 season; red jerseys accented with blue from 1933, when the Giants played in the first ever NFL Championship Game; and an iconic winged helmet honoring the 1938 champions as the Giants became a cornerstone in the foundation of the league. All of the team's 2024 jerseys will feature the team's '100 Seasons' patch."

Here's a look at the uniform, which will be worn one additional time this year on a date TBD.
The Giants have historically worn blue or white uniforms, but red has made brief appearances in the past, most recently from 2004-2007. In fact, per the Gridiron Uniform Database, red made appearances as the dominant color for much of 1925-1956.
But now they'll be back for the 2024 opener as the Giants look to start the season off on a positive note versus Minnesota.
