Anthony Edwards and Adidas poked the wrong bear.

Cam'ron dropped a profanity-laced freestyle in response to Adidas including the rapper in a commercial aimed at Edwards' doubters, taking issue with the Minnesota Timberwolves guard saying "f--k buddy."

The bars aimed at Edwards were relatively benign, but Adidas caught the full brunt of Cam'ron's wrath. Cam'ron blamed Adidas for the injuries to Derrick Rose, Tracy McGrady and John Wall before dropping the best line of the freestyle: "You know Kevin Ware? Google what was on his toes."

Ware was the Louisville guard who suffered a gruesome leg injury in the 2013 NCAA tournament. Louisville has an apparel agreement with Adidas.

Cam'ron also warned Edwards that Adidas would drop him if he ever said something the company "didn't like," referencing disgraced rapper Kanye West. Of course, that's not exactly accurate. Adidas stuck with West through several controversies before ultimately dropping him after a series of antisemitic tirades.

Still, as we've learned from the Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef in recent months, truth does not necessarily always matter in rap beefs. All that matters is coming up with the hottest line, and Cam'ron raked Edwards and Adidas over the coals.

Edwards is yet to respond, but it might be advisable to sit this one out. There is only so much a basketball player can do in a rap beef, and Cam'ron has released one album in the last 15 years. He has plenty of bars left in his chamber and likely won't hesitate to keep this feud going—particularly if it winds up getting his podcast more viewers.

This should be a lesson for Adidas and any marketing outlet: Don't use rappers as the butts of your joke, even if it's in good nature. You never know when it's going to backfire.
