Video: Celtics HC Rejects 'Bulls--t' Rumors on Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown Tension
Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla pushed back on the narrative that there's tension between C's stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum when asked about it in a Friday press conference.
Any purported distractions clearly aren't hindering the Celtics, who are flying high going into the NBA Finals, winning 12 of 14 postseason games after sweeping the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Brown and Tatum have repeatedly denied that there's issues between the two. Brown addressed that on a recent visit to the All The Smoke podcast.
Celtics fan Tomek Kordylewski also compiled numerous quotes since they became teammates in 2017 disputing the notion of a rivalry.
Of note, Tatum's comments on Brown winning the Eastern Conference Finals MVP hold water here.
"That was special, big time to be rewarded on how you played," Tatum said. "That's a special accomplishment for him and for everybody."
There was also this moment at the 2024 All-Star Game, per Celtics team reporter Taylor Snow:
It sure doesn't seem like the two have problems and that all is well going into the NBA Finals.
