Eminem's first single from his upcoming album has received a strong endorsement from LeBron James.

The Los Angeles Lakers star praised Eminem's new single as being "too good" in a post on X.

The Detroit-born rapper dropped the video for his new single "Houdini" on Friday.

The song begins by recreating the refrain from "Without Me" before Eminem goes into his new stuff.

"Houdini" is the debut single from Em's new album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). It will be his 12th studio album and first since 2020. The four-year gap between albums is the longest for Slim Shady since the release of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 in 2013 and Revival in 2017.

This has been a good year for Eminem so far. He was featured prominently throughout the Detroit Lions' playoff run in January, including flipping off San Francisco 49ers' fans at Levi's Stadium in the first half of the NFC Championship Game when the Lions looked to be in control.

Eminem also took the stage at the NFL Draft, which was held in Detroit.

One song that won't be featured on the album was a diss track Eminem said he was working on before Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson decided to stay with the team.

James' praise for Eminem's new song doesn't come as a surprise. He's got a sponsorship deal with Beats by Dre, which was co-founded by Dr. Dre. Eminem has released all of his albums through Aftermath Entertainment, which is Dre's record label.

LeBron and Eminem also collaborated as producers on the Paramount Plus documentary How Music Got Free about the rise of file sharing, MP3 audio files and how those changes impacted the music industry.

The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) doesn't have an official release date yet. Eminem's official website lists "summer 2024" as the release window.
