Jauan Jennings, 49ers Agree to 2-Year Contract Worth Reported $10.5M Guaranteed

The San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Jauan Jennings agreed to a new two-year contract on Wednesday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported deal includes $10.5 million guaranteed and will pay Jennings up to $15.4 million. He had been a restricted free agent after the Niners tabled a one-year tender in March.

Since he hadn't signed the tender, the 26-year-old was staying away from San Francisco's organized team activities. Without a signed contract, he wasn't technically on the team's roster.

His presence at the team's facility Wednesday indicated that a breakthrough of some kind had been made.

Jennings caught 19 passes for 265 yards and one touchdown during the 2023 regular season. His production ticked up a bit in the playoffs as he had 10 receptions for 111 yards and one score in three appearances.

Jennings isn't one of the most important members of the passing game. He was fifth on the team in catches and receiving yards last season. But there's no doubting the depth he provides as the third receiver behind Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel.

Getting him for an additional year is a nice luxury for San Francisco, too, since Aiyuk is a free agent in 2025 and Samuel will be entering his last year and thus could be a trade candidate.
