NFL's Travis Kelce Expresses Desire to Join 'Happy Gilmore 2' Cast with Adam Sandler
Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is hoping for the chance to appear on the big screen alongside one of his favorite actors.
During this week's episode of the New Heights podcast, Kelce addressed the rumors that he will be cast in Happy Gilmore 2, which stars Adam Sandler and will be released on Netflix, by saying he's more than open to the opportunity.
"I didn't even know there was a job opening for Happy Gilmore 2, but if there is I'll be a [freaking] extra," he said at the 10:46 mark (h/t Pete Grathoff of the Kansas City Star). "Anything I can do to get around Happy Gilmore or an Adam Sandler film or set, count me in."

Earlier this month, Kelce confirmed that he is branching out to acting and will be appearing in the upcoming television series Grotesquerie on FX, from American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy.
Grathoff noted that rumors started flying about Kelce appearing in Happy Gilmore 2 because he and his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, have frequently discussed their Sandler fandom on their podcast. The three-time Super Bowl champion was also seen wearing a Happy Gilmore cap.
While being coy, Kelce didn't shoot down those rumors and further fanned the flames of his possible inclusion in the film.
"Obviously been a huge fan of 'the Sandman,' but yes, this is exactly what it says it is: a conspiracy theory," he said. "Who knows? Theories can come true. Theories can be true and just people don't know about it. So I might even be in the talking [for the film] and nobody knows about it. But I could also not be in the talking so..."
Netflix announced last month that Sandler would reprise his role for the sequel of the 1996 comedy, which told the story of a hockey player turned golfer. The Kelce brothers went on to discuss the possible roles Travis could play in the film.
"I did just do a game show," Travis said, referring to his Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity? hosting gig. "Maybe play the Bob Barker role?"
Jason shot that down and suggested he could play the caddie for Shooter McGavin, Sandler's rival in the film.
"Like I said," Travis said. "I'll do anything in the movie. I'll be a part of it any way I can."
