Gunther claimed the title of King of the Ring by beating Randy Orton in the final Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. His win wasn't without some controversy, though.

Orton's left shoulder was clearly off the mat as the referee was counting to three.

Whether it was intentional or simply down to the way the Viper's momentum was carrying him, this is part of the story now.

Triple H said after the match he "saw what everybody saw" in terms of Orton's shoulders not being down but added the official's decision was final. He added, however, he'd like to see Gunther and Orton battle again to remove any doubt as to which of the two is superior.

Gunther made his intentions for this summer very clear. He called his shot for SummerSlam, claiming he's going to take the World Heavyweight Championship.

There's a lot of time between now and Aug. 3, so continuing his feud with Orton would give him something to occupy his time until he embarks on a quest for the world title.

Ospreay Lobbies for Ricochet to Join AEW

AEW star Will Ospreay isn't thrilled with how Ricochet has been utilized by WWE and said he'd be happy to see the former intercontinental champion join him.

"I keep up with him all the time and sometimes I get a little bit sad about it," he said to ComicBook's Liam Crowley. "I hope he's not sad and I hope he's real happy. I keep up with him as much as I can, but I feel like people are forgetting who Ricochet was once upon a time. All of these high-flyers that you see, and myself included, we all took inspiration from Pac and Ricochet."

Ospreay specifically cited Ricochet's presence on Speed, WWE's social media-centered show that consists of matches with a five-minute time limit.

"I just want people to remember who he is," the former IWGP world champion said. "If you go and look at 2012-2013 Dragon Gate Ricochet, he was untouchable at the time. When it came to this generation of high-flyers, he was the greatest. He's the greatest high-flyer ever. I know it sounds weird, but I do include put him on the same level as Rey Mysterio."

Ospreay also told Crowley he's "right here waiting" if Ricochet believes the grass might be greener outside of WWE..

Black's Contract Reportedly Not Expiring Soon

Speaking of wrestlers who might prefer greener pastures, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (via Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News) reported Malakai Black's AEW contract "doesn't look like it's going to be up in July before the options hit."

Black's future with the promotion has sporadically been a story, particularly among his fans who believe he's not reaching his full potential.

The 39-year-old was sidelined last fall due to calf and knee injuries. He missed a few months before returning in November.

Black seems to be finding his stride again. He was on the winning side in a trios match at AEW Dynasty and faced off with Adam Copeland in a Steel Cage match at Double or Nothing on Sunday.

AEW certainly hasn't positioned Black in a way to think an exit is imminent.
