(7) Maryland def. (6) Virginia 12-6

Notre Dame's Journey to the Championship Game

After ending the season as the No. 1 team in the country with a 12-1 record, the Fighting Irish have cruised through the tournament. They've won each of their three matchups by at least five goals, taking down UAlbany in the first round by the final score of 14-9 before putting up 16 goals against Georgetown during another win in the quarterfinals.

Notre Dame is led by coach Kevin Corrigan, who is in the midst of his 36th season with the program. Jake Taylor leads the team with 38 goals, while McLane and Chris Kavanagh both surpassed 30 goals as well. Kavanagh paced the Fighting Irish with 72 points, while his brother Pat sits at No. 2 on the roster with 69 points.

Notre Dame is attempting to become the first school to win consecutive championships since Virginia pulled off the feat in 2019 and 2021 after the 2020 tournament was canceled.

Maryland's Journey to the Championship Game

The Terrapins ranked No. 7 in the nation by finishing with a modest 8-5 record, as they've continued to stay successful under coach John Tillman. Since taking over as Maryland's head coach in 2011, Tillman has led the team to nine Final Four appearances, seven national title game appearances, and two championships.

Tillman's team started the tournament strong with a first-round victory against Princeton before taking down 2023 championship participant Duke by the final score of 14-11 in the quarterfinals.

Senior Daniel Maltz led the Terrapins with 28 goals, including three game-winners. Sophomore Braden Erksa's 39 points were the highest mark on the roster, while senior Eric Malever has racked up a team-best 20 assists.

The Terrapins and Fighting Irish will face off on Monday, with a championship hanging in the balance.
