Video: Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips Finds Iguana in Toilet; 'This Is Some Florida S--t'
After years of living in Miami and playing for the Dolphins, linebacker Jaelan Phillips has probably gotten used to some of the oddities of the state of Florida.
On Thursday, he experienced something he never could have imagined.
Phillips posted a video on Instagram of an iguana that somehow made its way to his toilet, and his reaction was hilarious.
"Man, this is some Florida s--t if I've ever seen it," Phillips said. "How the hell did he get in there? That man is bathing. In my toilet. And he is not a pet. I don't know where he came from, that's a grown man."
Phillips explained that he had to pay $150 to have an exterminator remove the reptile from his bathroom, and he also questioned whether the iguana came up through the toilet "like a Ninja Turtle" or if it had been living in his garage.
Either way, Phillips gave Miami fans something to relate to by sharing his Florida experience.
Now, Phillips will look to move on from his iguana friend and focus on the season ahead. The fourth-year player is looking to get back on track after missing nine games last season. While limited to eight games, Phillips had 43 tackles, an interception and a pair of passes deflected.
