NFL Rumors: Ravens' Lamar Jackson 'Could Be Even Faster' in 2024 After Losing Weight

Paul KasabianMay 21, 2024

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has slimmed down to 205 pounds, and that could potentially lead to a faster version of the signal-caller than we've seen in past seasons.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that news.

Jackson is already pretty fast and elusive, rushing for 821 yards and five touchdowns last year. He also just enjoyed the most efficient passing season of his six-year career, completing 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,678 yards, 24 touchdowns and just seven picks.

The Ravens were on the doorstep of reaching their first Super Bowl in 11 years before the Kansas City Chiefs upset them in the AFC Championship. Baltimore retains much of the talent from the 2023 Ravens squad, including Jackson of course, so we could very well see another deep playoff run.

We'll find out soon enough if the weight loss affects Jackson at all soon enough when he leads the Ravens into a tough test to start the year on the road against the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs on Sept. 5.
