Caitlin Clark Lands Wilson Contract; 1st Athlete Since Michael Jordan with Collection

Tyler ConwayMay 21, 2024

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Wilson agreed to a multiyear endorsement contract, the two sides announced Tuesday.

Clark will become the first athlete since Michael Jordan to release a signature basketball collection. The signature ball will be gold and white and feature personalized engravings of the Fever star.

"I think it is super special, and it's been fun for me," Clark said, per Vinciane Ngomsi of Boardroom. "I feel like I was just that young kid who had those basketballs that I would store in the garage. I'm just very lucky and fortunate to partner with Wilson to create something that everyone can enjoy. It connects with a lot of generations, and it'll be fun to see kids walking around holding them."

Clark parlayed her historic career Iowa to become one of the highest-paid women in professional sports. She already inked a $28 million deal with Nike and has additional endorsement contracts with State Farm, Gatorade, Panini and Gainbridge.

Adding Wilson to the mix only further capitalized on her momentum, which has slowed a bit since she's made her WNBA debut.

Clark is averaging 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 41.2 percent from the field in her first four WNBA games. The Indiana Fever have dropped all four of those contests, and Clark has been outwardly frustrated at times—particularly with officiating.

These companies are banking on Clark finding her groove and transforming into the superstar who drove millions of eyeballs to the screen at Iowa. Her regular-season debut with the Fever drew 2.12 million viewers.

Clark's signature release with Wilson is already available on the company's website.
