Gunther and Nia Jax Must Be King and Queen of the Ring, More WWE Raw Takes

The May 20 edition of WWE Raw set the final stage for talent before heading to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for King and Queen of the Ring on Saturday.

Gunther choked out Jey Uso to earn his spot in the men's finals. He remains the presumed favorite and rightful winner based on his phenomenal weekly performances and presentation.

Lyra Valkyria pulled off the upset of the tournament, catching Iyo Sky in a pin for three to advance to the women's final. She will face either Nia Jax or Bianca Belair next, but it's most likely be The Irresistible Force.

Liv Morgan ruined The Valkyrie's good night and laid into Becky Lynch verbally, showing why she may be ready for the Women's World Championship.

Chad Gable picked up a big win over intercontinental champion Sami Zayn with the help of Otis, but it may not be Alpha Academy that Gable needs to take the title from Zayn.

Sonya Deville finally returned to our screens, and it looks like she is planning to align with the new No. 1 contender for the WWE Women's Tag Team World Championship, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.

Monday was a big go-home show for the red brand that set some major expectations for King and Queen of the Ring.

Gunther Remains Only Option to Win King of the Ring

Gunther winning King of the Ring feels right. Following the legacy of rising stars such as Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle, he is ready to be a "ring king."

His matches with Sheamus, Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso have each shined a light on the impact of The Ring General in WWE.

Every time he performs, fans pay attention. He is a destroyer who cannot be stopped easily. The crown will just add more mystique to his presentation. He needs it more than anyone else.

Randy Orton may want to add King of the Ring to his resume, but it hardly matters to his legacy. Tama Tonga is not at the level yet where he should be defeating The Viper, let alone winning King of the Ring.

Since The Ring General is not immediately in the world title picture and will likely stay out of the Intercontinental Championship for the foreseeable future, a King of the Ring win is the accolade that can keep him relevant all the way to WrestleMania 41 season.

More importantly, the Austrian will revitalize the image of the King of the Ring as a title worthy of the top competitors.

Clear Winner Emerges For Queen of the Ring

Unlike Gunther with King of the Ring, there was no obvious winner for Queen of the Ring.

Iyo Sky could have used the rebound victory, Tiffany Stratton would have jump-started her run with the accolade, and Jade Cargill might have started building a new win streak with the crown.

However, all three women have been eliminated, leaving the surprise Raw representation Lyra Valkyria facing either Nia Jax or Bianca Belair.

The EST of WWE remains the longest reigning women's champion of all time. She hardly needs Queen of the Ring, but she would add legitimacy to the title.

The Valkyrie would become an immediate big name in the business with a Queen of the Ring victory, but she has gained enough clout already making it to the finals while backing up Becky Lynch.

This leaves the likely favorite. Jax has made an impact since her return to WWE in September, turning heads with her steady in-ring performances.

Winning Queen of the Ring would establish a new foundation for her in WWE. Much like The Ring General, she is certain to remain a legitimate threat with the crown and can elevate what the title means.

This would also set up The Irresistible Force perfectly as the most dangerous threat to Bayley's title reign on SmackDown.

Time For Chad Gable to Ditch Alpha Academy For New Faction

Chad Gable finally may have the momentum to capture the Intercontinental Championship, but his support system does not seem ideal for his future plans.

Otis wants to help the group leader, but he will not embrace his hateful personality.

Akira Tozawa is a goofball who does not have a mean bone in his body, and Gable barely seems interested in putting up with Maxxine Dupri.

However, there are three wrestlers he has shown favor to: Julius Creed, Brutus Creed and Ivy Nile. They all have more potential as heels and clearer untapped promise in the ring.

The Olympian should capture the Intercontinental Championship in 2024, but he should do so with Diamond Mine at his back instead of Alpha Academy.

The time is right to make the switch. In fact, Gable winning at King and Queen of the Ring with the help of The Creed Brothers would be a fantastic moment.

Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark Should Form Next Big Women's Stable

WWE has shown a strong propensity toward creating stables in the Triple H era, but the women have not been able to keep up with the men in terms of building groups.

The only faction on the main roster with more than one female member is Damage CTRL. The depth of the women's division demands more.

Sonya Deville returned to speak with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark after both lost in the Queen of the Ring tournament, indicating her interesting in getting them back on track.

While Deville has worn many hats in WWE, she has a legitimate mixed martial arts background that would allow her to work with two of the most dangerous women in WWE.

This is a group that just makes sense, and together the trio can keep each other in the spotlight better than they would be apart.

Baszler and Stark earned a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship on Raw that could even set up this new stable working both brands in the future, much like Damage CTRL before.

Liv Morgan Must Win Women's World Championship

It is time to give Liv Morgan her second shot to run with the top title in WWE.

Her first chance as SmackDown women's champion failed due to elements out of her hands. A poorly booked Money in the Bank cash-in coupled with a Ronda Rousey feud that belittled her sealed her fate.

However, the 29-year-old has never looked more legitimate as a singles competitor than now. Her promo work is locked in and her in-ring work has massively improved.

She should be the one to dethrone Becky Lynch, and there is no better time for that than the present.

The Man may have just won the Women's World Championship, but the bigger money remains with a heel Morgan.

With Lynch back on the chase until Rhea Ripley returns, Morgan could prove herself and earn a permanent spot in the main event scene.
