Projecting Most Likely Heel and Face Turns at WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024

King and Queen of the Ring will be the company's first show officially in the new era to come from the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The show promises big matches including Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul, the King and Queen of the Ring tournament finals as well as Sami Zayn putting his Intercontinental Championship on the line.

Will Chad Gable finally find his way to the title he craves with the help of some surprise heel allies? Could Gunther complete his journey to become King of the Ring without help?

Is the time right for the return of Roman Reigns to combat The Bloodline takeover by Solo Sikoa?

The following are the most likely heel and face turns for King and Queen of the Ring on Saturday.

Heel: Otis

Chad Gable has fully turned heel, but everyone around him is still a fan favorite. It is clear that he needs help that will push him to the Intercontinental Championship.

The immediate obvious answer would be Alpha Academy. While he technically has a stable behind him, none of them have looked content playing the villain.

Gable has verbally abused Maxxine Dupri, Akira Tozawa and Otis. Of the three, only Otis has taken action to directly support the Olympian.

However, even after Otis reluctantly helped Gable defeat Sami Zayn in a non-title match on Monday's Raw, heapologized to the intercontinental champion later in the night.

Unlike the rest of Alpha Academy, Otis is guaranteed to stand in Gable's corner at King and Queen of the Ring. It will be up to him if he is ready to turn heel and get his friend his first championship.

WWE has developed this story with Gable and Alpha Academy perfectly, especially establishing the depth of Gable and Otis' friendship.

Whatever the big man does, this show will change that dynamic.

Heel: Diamond Mine

If Otis and Alpha Academy fail to protect Chad Gable, WWE has slowly developed an answer for who will step up to replace them: Diamond Mine.

Julius and Brutus Creed have struggled to find a spot on the main roster after repeatedly losing big matches. They need a change in perspective, and that could come with Gable.

The Creed Brothers have become friendly with the Olympian in a way that indicates they are ready to join his villainous run.

Ivy Nile has ignored Gable so far, but the Alpha Academy leader has only spoken positively of her potential (as long as she leaves her tag team partner Maxxine Dupri behind).

It is unclear if Diamond Mine will travel to Saudi Arabia this weekend. But if the group is available, the Creeds could play a crucial role in helping Gable to win.

This could be the first step in establishing a new foundation for Gable and build further on a story that is getting everyone involved more over by the week.

Face: Roman Reigns

Is it too early for Roman Reigns to return? No one truly knows when he will return to take back control of The Bloodline, but Tama Tonga could force the issue if he makes the King of the Ring finals.

Solo Sikoa has claimed the lead role in the group in the absence of The Tribal Chief and brought in Tama and Tonga Loa to back him up.

This new Bloodline has set the faction on a far more brutal path that leaves Paul Heyman terrified every week.

When the time is right, Reigns will return to challenge Sikoa. In his absence, mentions of him have been cheered by the WWE Universe, including chants of "Thank you, Roman."

This will be an easy move for WWE. It's all down to the timing. The company has put major emphasis on the importance of these shows in Jeddah, so King and Queen of the Ring could be a perfect moment for Reigns' return.

Heel: Ilja Dragunov or Sheamus

No matter how imposing Gunther may be, Imperium does not sound like much of a stable with just two members.

Ludwig Kaiser laid out Giovanni Vinci recently, ending his run with the group. But his replacement has yet to be established.

Gunther is stepping into a career-defining match in the King of the Ring finals, likely against one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time, Randy Orton.

How can The Ring General guarantee his victory? He can bring in a surprise new Imperium member to seal his victory.

Two men make sense for that role due to their recent interactions with the Austrian: Ilja Dragunov or Sheamus.

Both have no clear direction on the main roster except their continued struggles with overcoming Gunther, and both fit the role of hard-hitting European wrestlers.

While Dragunov makes the most sense for the long term given how much his story has connected with Gunther over the years, Sheamus may make more sense on this night.

The Celtic Warrior seemed to give up after submitting to The Ring General for a third time. That may indicate he is ready to become subservient to him.

Either man could use this fresh angle as an opportunity to build up a future megamatch against Gunther.
