Pierce's injury certainly caused some worry among Celtics and NBA fans, but his message seems to indicate he will be fine after his surgery.

Pierce was a fan favorite in Boston for 15 seasons and remains a legend of the Celtics franchise. Drafted in 1998, Pierce played in Boston until 2013, winning a championship in 2008 and earning Finals MVP. He led the Celtics to another Finals appearance in 2010 but came up short against the Los Angeles Lakers.

After his time in Boston, Pierce spent a season with the Brooklyn Nets, a year with the Washington Wizards and closed out his career with the Los Angeles Clippers, retiring in 2017.

Pierce will look to recover quickly as the Celtics continue battling in the playoffs. Boston advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for a third straight season after handling the Cleveland Cavaliers and will now face either the New York Knicks or Indiana Pacers. A Finals win for the Celtics would certainly help boost Pierce's spirits after his scary injury.
