Reed Sheppard NBA Combine 2024: Measurements, Analysis and Impressions

Doric SamMay 15, 2024

Reed Sheppard has used the NBA draft combine to erase any questions about how his size will affect him at the professional level.

Despite being one of the more diminutive prospects in this year's draft class, the former Kentucky guard impressed with his athleticism and shooting to prove his worth as a potential lottery pick.

Sheppard measured in at 6'1.75" without shoes and 181.6 pounds. He has a wingspan of 6'3.25" and a standing reach of 7'9.50". Only eight players were measured to be shorter than him at the combine.

However, Sheppard showcased other skills that surely caught the attention of NBA scouts. He tied for the highest maximum vertical leap at 42.0 inches:

Sheppard also put on an impressive performance during the three-point shooting drills:

Some in attendance at the combine indicated that Sheppard did more than enough to solidify his draft stock:

ESPN's Jonathan Givony went as far as to compare Sheppard to the greatest shooter in NBA history based on his physical traits:

Sheppard is listed as the No. 2 overall prospect in the latest draft big board by B/R's Jonathan Wasserman. In his most recent mock draft, Wasserman predicted Sheppard would be selected with the No. 3 pick by the Houston Rockets.

The 19-year-old has the capability to start contributing right away when he enters the NBA. His shooting skills and athletic prowess make him an attractive prospect, and his stock could continue to rise in a year that lacks a consensus No. 1 pick. The team that drafts Sheppard will be getting arguably the best shooter in this year's class.
