NFL Rumors: Hurts, Eagles vs. Cousins, Falcons Set for MNF on Week 2 of 2024 Schedule
The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly will be playing their 2024 home opener against one of the fastest-rising teams in the NFC in a prime-time matchup.
Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, star quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will be hosting the Atlanta Falcons and their new quarterback Kirk Cousins on Monday Night Football in Week 2 of the upcoming season.
Philadelphia will be under the spotlight in each of the first two weeks of the upcoming campaign. It was also announced on Wednesday that the Eagles will open their 2024 season on Friday, Sept. 6, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, against the Green Bay Packers as part of the NFL's international series. It will be the NFL's first game ever played in Brazil.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The Eagles looked like they were on their way to a second straight Super Bowl appearance last season when they started the year with a 10-1 record, but they lost five of their last six games and were disappointingly eliminated from the playoffs in the NFC Wild Card Round in a 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Philadelphia reloaded for the 2024 season by adding a former rival, as the team signed former New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley to a three-year deal. The team also had a strong draft with the selections of cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
The Falcons are expected to make some noise this season thanks to the addition of Cousins. The four-time Pro Bowler is viewed as the missing piece to a talented Atlanta offense that includes running back Bijan Robinson, receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts. The team is hoping that Cousins will help end a six-year playoff drought in 2024.
