Josh Allen, Bills vs. Tagovailoa, Dolphins Set for TNF on Week 2 of 2024 NFL Schedule

The AFC East rivalry between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins will be renewed in the first Prime Video game of the 2024 NFL season.

It was announced on Tuesday that Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins will host Josh Allen and the Bills in the Week 2 Thursday Night Football matchup on Sept. 12.

This will be the second Thursday Night Football game of the season. The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC Championship Game rematch in the season opener on Sept. 5.

The 2024 season marks the third year of Amazon's deal with the NFL to be the exclusive home for Thursday Night Football. The tech giant is paying the league approximately $1 billion per year through 2033.

Buffalo and Miami played the final regular season game of the 2023 season. The matchup was flexed into the Sunday Night Football spot with the winner claiming the AFC East title and the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs.

The Bills scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to earn a 21-14 victory. Allen's five-yard touchdown pass to Dawson Knox with 7:16 remaining proved to be the difference.

Miami's final two possessions after the Bills took the lead ended in a three-and-out and a Tua Tagovailoa interception by Taylor Rapp on a pass intended for Chase Claypool near the Buffalo 20-yard line.

Neither quarterback was at their best in the game. Allen threw for 359 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Tagovailoa threw for a season-low 173 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

The Dolphins have lost six of seven games against their division rivals started by Tagovailoa since his rookie season in 2020. The Bills are the only team he has thrown more interceptions (seven) than touchdowns (six) against in a minimum of two starts.
