Tyson Fury's Dad Bloodied from Headbutting Oleksandr Usyk's Crew Member on Video

The father of boxing star Tyson Fury is more than ready for his son's highly anticipated fight with Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday.

John Fury went face to face with a member of Usyk's camp when the two groups crossed paths Monday. After being separated by security personnel, the elder Fury headbutted a different person from the Usyk entourage and was left bloodied from the blow.

Regarding the incident, John told iFL TV that "some little idiot come forward—I don't know who he was—in my space" and "got what he got."

Stanislav Stepchuk, the member of Usyk's team who was the target of Fury's aggression, had his say as well. Sporting a small cut above his eyebrow, Stepchuk told Seconds Out through a translator that he was only chanting for Usyk before Fury delivered the headbutt. He cited the age difference between he and the elder Fury as the reason why he didn't respond physically.

Fury subsequently offered "sincere apologies to everybody involved" in his own interview with Seconds Out.

If this were professional wrestling, we might be getting a tag team match pitting Tyson and John Fury against Usyk and Stepchuk. Alas, only Tyson and Usyk will be stepping into the ring.

They're the two top heavyweights in the world and each sports an unblemished record to this point. No promotional tactics were required to make this one of the biggest spectacles on the boxing calendar.

John Fury did his part anyway.
