Report: 2027 CFP Title Game Set for Las Vegas; Locations for 2028-30 in Negotiations
The College Football Playoff is taking its 2027 title game to Sin City, according to Brett McMurphy of Action Network.
McMurphy on Monday cited a source who said Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is a "lock" to host the national championship in three years. He added that New Orleans (2028), Dallas (2029) and Miami (2029) have emerged as the front-runners for the the CFP title game after that.

Report: 24-Team CFP Gaining Steam
Allegiant Stadium has yet to host a College Football Playoff contest, but that was bound to change sooner or later.
The stigma of staging major events in Las Vegas, with its long ties to legalized gambling, has long since faded. The construction of Allegiant Stadium has turned the city into a bigger magnet for prominent spectacles on the sports calendar.
The venue just housed Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. The Pac-12 moved its championship game to Vegas starting in 2021. The 2028 Men's Final Four will be held there.
McMurphy noted the College Football Playoff and Vegas would've come together much earlier had it not been for some logistical hurdles. Negotiations between the two sides about the 2025 national championship broke down when they couldn't find a way to navigate around the annual Consumer Electronics Show.
How the College Football Playoff for the 2026 season will be structured remains unclear. The new 12-team format might already have expanded to 14 teams by that point.
But we do know where all roads will lead in January 2027.
