Bronny James Goes Undrafted in ESPN's 2024 NBA Mock Draft; Lakers Pick McCain, Shead
Bronny James went unselected in ESPN's latest NBA mock draft following the release of the lottery results on Sunday.
There's been plenty of speculation as to whether James could be chosen by the Los Angeles Lakers, who hold the No. 17 and No. 55 overall picks in the draft.
That, of course, would lead to James playing with his father, Lakers star LeBron James, marking the first time a father and son have ever played in the NBA at the same time, let alone on the same team.
In this mock draft, though, the Lakers went with Duke guard Jared McCain at No. 17 before choosing Houston guard Jamal Shead at No. 55.
James is slated to participate in the NBA Combine in Chicago this week alongside 77 other prospects. However, James can go back to school if he so chooses.
He simultaneously announced his intention to enter the NBA draft and also enter the NCAA transfer portal following his freshman year at USC.
James has until June 16 at 5 p.m. ET to decide whether he'll stay in the NBA draft pool or head back to school.
For now, James will head to Chicago for the Combine, a great opportunity to improve his standing before the draft gets underway on June 26.
