NBA Draft 2024 Odds: Alex Sarr Early Favorite for No. 1 Pick After Hawks Win Lottery
French star Alex Sarr is the early favorite to be selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA draft.
Sarr has -180 odds to go first overall, with fellow Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher behind him at +300 odds, via FanDuel Sportsbook.
UConn standout Donovan Clingan, Serbia's Nikola Topic and Kentucky freshmen stars Rob Dillingham and Reed Sheppard are also some of the early favorites to be selected with the top pick.
Sarr, who plays for the Perth Wildcats of Australia's NBL, has shown plenty of early potential and has an excellent frame at 7'1". He is also getting reps against pros in the NBL at just 18 years old, meaning he could have a seamless transition into the NBA.
Sarr has held his own in the NBL, averaging 9.7 points and 4.4 rebounds while playing 17.2 minutes per game. Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman considers Sarr to be the No. 4 overall prospect in this year's draft.
Risacher, who is 19, has spent the last three seasons playing professional basketball in France, where he put up a career-high 10.1 points per game last season. Wasserman considers Risacher to be the No. 9 prospect in this year's draft class.
Unlike last season, there is no clear No. 1 pick in this year's draft, so this week's NBA draft combine should give teams a better idea of how the players will perform in the league. The combine takes place May 12 through May 19 and the NBA draft is on June 27.
