Video: WWE's Rey Mysterio Talks Trying to Convert His Daughter to a Padres Fan

WWE legend Rey Mysterio is an avid supporter of his hometown San Diego Padres, but he's facing a rivalry from within his own family.

Mysterio told B/R on Friday that his daughter Aalyah has pledged her allegiance to the Los Angeles Dodgers, and try as he may, he hasn't been able to get her to join him as a fan of the Padres.

"My daughter's a big Dodgers fan. As much as I've tried to convince her to jump over to the Padres, I just can't do it," Mysterio said. "I'm hoping that once she sees the Padres take the lead, I'm hoping to convert her over to a Padres fan. I mean, we are from San Diego, so why root for the Dodgers, right?"

The Dodgers and Padres are set to begin a three-game series in San Diego on Friday night. The two teams have faced each other five times so far this season, with the Padres winning three of those matchups.

However, Aalyah might have the right idea in rooting for the Dodgers. Los Angeles ranks first in the NL West with a 26-13 record and leads the second-place Padres (20-20) by 6.5 games entering Friday's series opener.

Mysterio is certainly hoping the Padres can close the gap and let him have bragging rights over his daughter this weekend.
