Lions' Terrion Arnold Jokes If His Mom Was a WR, He Would 'Jam Her in the Dirt'
Detroit Lions rookie Terrion Arnold will stop at nothing to do his job, regardless of who the wide receiver lined up against him might be.
Speaking to reporters at rookie minicamp on Friday, Arnold joked he would "jam her in the dirt" if the opposing receiver was his mom.

While this might seem a little extreme for any player, it's only going to help endear Arnold to this particular Lions' coaching staff.
Head coach Dan Campbell began his tenure with the organization by telling reporters the Lions were going to reflect the attitude of Detroit by overcoming adversity and "bite a kneecap off" as they were pulling themselves up when they got knocked down.
There might be a long distance from biting the kneecap of an opposing player to jamming your mother in the dirt if she lined up against you, but it speaks to Arnold's commitment to giving the Lions everything he's got no matter the situation.
In the scouting report for B/R, Cory Giddings noted Arnold "performs best when in press man" coverage.
Friday's comment speaks well of Arnold's self-awareness about what he's good at on the field. The Lions have a lot invested in him becoming a standout cornerback. They traded their first- and third-round picks (No. 29 and 73) to the Dallas Cowboys to move up five spots to select him.
It wasn't a secret to anyone the Lions needed to upgrade their secondary. They allowed the sixth-most passing yards (4,205) and passing touchdowns (28) last season.
Detroit made cornerbacks a priority this offseason, starting with the acquisition of Carlton Davis III from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Arnold is the team's big bet on finding a star-level player at cornerback.
After reaching the NFC Championship Game last season for the first time since 1991, Lions' stock is pointing straight up going into 2024. Arnold should have no problem fitting in with this roster as he tries to help them clear that final hurdle to reach the Super Bowl.
