Lane Kiffin Shares Article Alleging Tennessee is Trying to Steal Ole Miss Commit

In the wake of Deion Sanders vowing to do better after being too online last week for responding to criticisms of Shedeur Sanders, Lane Kiffin has come along to take the baton.

The Ole Miss head coach shared an article from Zach Ragan of A to Z Sports with the headline: "The Tennessee Vols are working to steal an Ole Miss commit from Lane Kiffin."

Ragan's story simply points out that linebacker Jarcoby Hopson Jr., who committed to the Rebels on April 22, was recently visited by Vols linebackers coach William Inge.

Hopson even posted a picture of himself with Inge on X:

Even though it's still very early in the 2025 recruiting cycle, Hopson is one of the top players in Mississippi's class right now. He's a 4-star recruit and No. 22 linebacker in the class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.

The magic of Kiffin's post is it can mean anything because there's no context to it. He could be making fun of Tennessee for trying to poach a recruit from him because it has finished behind Ole Miss in the overall SEC standings three times in four years since Kiffin was hired.

It might only mean Kiffin is bored at this point in the offseason and found something that interested him as he was scrolling headlines.

Kiffin should feel comfortable Hopson won't flip on his commitment. The Lake Cormorant linebacker is from Mississippi and didn't have the Vols in his top-10 list that he released on Dec. 3.
